Just when you think MSNBC host Chris Matthews has reached the height of insanity and can go no further….he goes further. Matthews, appearing with Andrea Mitchell, accused Newt Gingrich of having a racial motive with the way he pronounced Juan Williams first name. I mean why would Gingrich call Juan Juan? He should have called him John, just to be on the safe side. But no, he called him Juan. Forgetting the ever watchful eye of the race police at MSNBC.
What I really like about Matthews’ ludicris comments was the fact that he qualified them by saying that “You either see them or you don’t.” Meaning, the racism was there, it can’t really be proven, but if you’re smart like Chris Matthews you’d have seen it. And since it can’t be proven one way or the other, Matthews is free to be condescending to those unfortunate enough to watch him even while accusing Gingrich of being condescending towards a black reporter who in fact was trying to bait Gingrich with a racially motivated line of questioning.
Only Chris Matthews is magnificent enough to see the nuances between the Republican’s policy stances and their overt racism. Only he is brilliant enough to see just how racist Gingrich is by the pronunciation of a black reporter’s name. Only Chris Matthews.
I’m not posting the video of Matthews because I figure the fewer chances to see Matthews spew stupidity the better off you’ll be.
