Danica Patrick: Hot And Dumb

Thanks to Smitty I’ve been inspired to create another series of posts entitled “Hot and Dumb.” I had previously posted one not knowing that it would turn into a series, but since it’s obvious that subjects for the series won’t be hard to find, here it is. When asked about Obama’s contraception mandate, NASCAR star Danica Patrick answered that she leaves it up to the government to make good decisions for every American.

From the Daily Caller where you can also see the video:

NASCAR driver Danica Patrick isn’t particularly concerned about the Obama administration’s dictate that religious employers provide health care plans that cover contraceptives.

“I leave it up to the government to make good decisions for Americans,” Patrick, a Roman Catholic, told The Daily Caller Tuesday when asked about the controversy.

To be fair, it appears that the video was cut short, meaning that it looked as if Danica was about to clarify her answer. But given the day and time in which we live, it would almost be impossible to quantify those statements with any degree of satisfaction, whether you be a small government type, Catholic, or Danica Patrick fan.

I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt that she was just trying to take the high road and refrain from getting bogged down in a highly volatile, political ruckus, like other high profile athletes have done, that so far has only damaged those who’ve chosen to get involved. That being said, her comments didn’t exactly come across as being well thought out.

Either way, it gives me an excuse to post a picture of Danica Patrick. Hot and dumb.

UPDATE: Troglopundit has lumped me in with a host of others who may be blamed for Danica’s recent on track misfortunes. Lance, I did my level best to give Danica the benefit of the doubt when it came to her response to the loaded question. Do I have to drive her car for her too?
