Not really. But he’ll take it. Palin told Sean Hannity that if she were a South Carolinian she’d vote for Newt Gingrich to extend the primary season. Mainly her argument that the candidates are becoming sharper and better with each passing day. My question for those who are saying that she didn’t endorse Gingrich, that she was only advocating the extension of the primaries beyond three states, why Gingrich? She could have made the same argument by saying that she’d vote for Santorum.
“I can tell you what I would do if I were a South Carolinian…If I were a South Carolinian though, and each one of these primaries and caucuses are different, Sean, I want to see this thing continue because iron sharpens iron. Steel sharpens steel. These guys are getting better in their debates. They are getting more concise. They are getting more grounded in what their beliefs are and articulating what their ideas are for getting America back on the right track and getting Americans working again. If I had to vote in South Carolina order to keep this thing going, I would vote for Newt and I would want it to continue. More debates, more vetting of candidates.”
Her husband Todd has already endorsed Newt. Surely the two of them can’t be that far off in terms of who they’d support. Maybe it’s the whole “hate the establishment” thing that has the Palin’s seemingly in Gingrich’s corner. But it appears to me that Santorum would fit that narrative better than Newt.
Damn, I wish the primaries were over.
