It is now that the MSM has decided to get involved. Politico is reporting that Anthony Weiner has hired an attorney in the “Twitter incident.” The kicker is that he’s only retained council to advice him of what civil or criminal actions could be taken.
Okay, that’s not the real kicker. The real kicker is that Anthony Weiner is referring to the “Twitter incident” as a prank. Yeah, he doesn’t really have time to worry with it, he’s busy tending to the people’s business, don’t you know.
“At a time when the GOP is playing games with the debt limit, a member of the Supreme Court is refusing to recuse himself from matters he has a financial interest in, and middle class incomes are stagnant, many want to change the subject,” Weiner said in a statement emailed to POLITICO by his office. “I don’t. This was a prank, and a silly one. I’m focused on my work.”
Hmmmm. Many want to change the subject? It seems to me that the one who would really love to change the subject is Anthony Weiner. It doesn’t seem to me like Mr. Weiner is taking this “incident” very seriously.
How else do you explain his nonchalant attitude towards a pretty serious “prank” as he calls it? A “prank” that could end his marriage and presumably his political career. If it were indeed a hacker who attempted to besmirch the reputation of the fine upstanding congressman, doesn’t it seem like he would be a little more forceful in trying to get to the bottom of it?
But for all intents and purposes I’m with Ace. I’m pretty much Weinered out at this point.
