After nearly a decade of successful arena tours, Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra has announced that they will be disbanding after their upcoming final tour, The Over and Out Tour. The 27-date tour is set to kick off on Aug. 24 in Palm Desert, California and conclude on Oct. 25 in Los Angeles.
Ticket sales for the tour will begin on March 22, with the possibility of additional legs being added at a later date. The original incarnation of Electric Light Orchestra, which ran from 1970 to 1986, produced iconic hits such as “Mr. Blue Sky” and “Evil Woman.”
After dissolving the group in 1986, Jeff Lynne resurrected ELO in 2001, with only original keyboardist Richard Tandy returning. Despite their commercial disappointment with the release of their LP Zoom and a canceled arena tour, the group found success under the new name Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra, with successful arena tours between 2015 and 2019.
However, Tandy missed the group’s last few tours for undisclosed reasons. The group recently performed their first show since 2019 at Joe Walsh’s VetsAid concert in Chula Vista, California on Nov. 12, 2023.
The Over and Out Tour will include dates in cities such as Seattle, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. Fans of Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra will not want to miss their final opportunity to see the legendary band live in concert.
