NASA astronaut Tracy C. Dyson, Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitskiy, and Belarusian spaceflight participant Marina Vasilevskaya have successfully launched to the International Space Station (ISS) from Kazakhstan. The crew embarked on their journey at 8:36 a.m. EDT on Saturday from the Baikonur Cosmodrome after a previous scrubbed launch due to an electrical issue.
They are scheduled to dock to the space station’s Prichal module at approximately 11:09 a.m. on Monday, March 25, aboard the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft. Viewers can tune in for docking coverage starting at 10:15 a.m. on NASA+, NASA Television, YouTube, and the agency’s website. Once the hatches between the station and the Soyuz open around 1:40 p.m., the new crew members will join the current crew, which includes NASA astronauts and Roscosmos cosmonauts.
Novitskiy and Vasilevskaya will spend 12 days aboard the station before providing the ride home for another crew member. Meanwhile, Dyson will spend the next six months aboard the station as an Expedition 70 and 71 flight engineer, returning to Earth in September with two Roscosmos cosmonauts who will complete a year-long mission on the lab.
This mission marks the third spaceflight for Dyson, the fourth for Novitskiy, and the first for Vasilevskaya. The successful launch highlights international collaboration in space exploration as the crew prepares to conduct research and maintain operations on the ISS. Stay tuned for more updates on their mission and activities aboard the station on ‘Poh Diaries’.
