Terry Clark Hughes Jr, a 39-year-old man from Charlotte, North Carolina, made headlines on Monday after opening fire on law enforcement officers. The tragic incident resulted in the deaths of four officers, including members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force and a CMPD officer.
Hughes was wanted for possession of a firearm by a felon and felony flee to elude out of Lincoln County, North Carolina. Shocking video footage of the shoot-out emerged, showing officers lying on the ground behind a car in a garage, with multiple gunshots heard.
Fortunately, two other individuals found in the home where Hughes was firing from are cooperating with the investigation and are not considered suspects. Three of the injured officers have been discharged from the hospital, with one remaining in stable condition.
