Qualcomm Unveils Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: Focus on CPU and GPU Performance
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the highly anticipated flagship chipset from Qualcomm, has been revealed with a central focus on enhancing CPU and GPU performance. The chipset boasts a total of eight cores, organized into clusters, making it a force to be reckoned with in terms of processing power.
The first cluster consists of a prime core, Cortex X4, clocked at an impressive 3.3 GHz, along with five performance cores, Cortex A720, running at varying speeds. On the other hand, the third cluster houses two efficiency cores, Cortex A520, running at a frequency of 2.3 GHz. Interestingly, this year Qualcomm opted not to conduct independent benchmarks and instead provided benchmark results for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The results were based on testing conducted using a Qualcomm Reference Design (QRD) device, featuring a 6.65-inch AMOLED display, a whopping 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and a generous 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device operates on the latest Android 14 operating system and packs a 4,192 mAh battery.
