Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick issued a warning about the potential for violent crime sprees similar to recent events in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The congressman stressed the importance of addressing mental health issues to prevent violence in communities.
The alert came after 26-year-old Andre Gordon allegedly shot and killed three people in Falls Township, Pennsylvania. Gordon then fled to New Jersey, where he was taken into custody after a five-hour standoff with law enforcement.
Fitzpatrick praised the efforts of law enforcement in apprehending Gordon and ensuring community safety. Gordon is accused of killing his 52-year-old stepmother, 13-year-old sister, and 25-year-old Taylor Daniel. Four survivors were inside the home where Daniel was killed.
