Tiger Woods in Position to Break Masters Record for Consecutive Cuts
Legendary golfer Tiger Woods is on the verge of making history at the Masters tournament, as he is in position to break the record for the most consecutive cuts made at 24. Woods, currently 1-under par through 13 holes of his opening round, had to suspend play on Thursday due to darkness. He will have to play 23 holes on Friday to complete both his first and second rounds.
Despite the challenging conditions on the course, Woods managed to make a rare birdie on the first hole, only the second time he has done so in his 26 Masters appearances. He described the wind as unpredictable, adding to the difficulty of the day’s play.
Woods, who withdrew from a tournament earlier this year due to illness, expressed confidence in his ability to compete for a sixth green jacket this year. He is currently tied with Gary Player and Fred Couples for the most consecutive cuts made at the Masters.
Playing alongside Max Homa and Jason Day, who are at 4-under par and even par respectively, Woods will resume his first round on Friday morning before immediately starting his second round, with only a short break in between. Golf fans around the world are eagerly watching as Woods aims for another record-breaking achievement in his illustrious career.
